Our Partners

BWD

Our purpose is to improve quality of life and raise ambitions of local people. We will do this by working with them to:

Improve their skills and increase their economic prospects

Improve their health and well-being

Create resilient, cohesive and stronger communities

Create cleaner and safer neighbourhoods

We help over 3,000 adults learn new skills and develop interests every year, ranging from healthy cooking, first aid, computers, food-hygiene to improving your reading, writing and maths skills.

Creative Support in Blackburn have developed a number of courses over the years with Chris Truckle from the Adult Learning Team. We are very excited to be teaming up again with Chris to support this summer’s NCS intake at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.

UCLAN

In April 2000 UCLan Sports Arena (formerly Preston Sports Arena) was opened by HRH the Princess Royal. Sport is one of UCLan’s key areas for development and the outstanding Sports Arena has a significant role in improving sport for students. UCLan Sports Arena is also available for the wider Preston community, who benefit from the excellent opportunities open to them at the City’s premier multi-sports venue.

The £12 million Arena provides facilities for athletics, rugby league, rugby union, football, hockey, netball, tennis and cycling. There are also seven floodlit training grids, a 19 station fitness suite and an indoor room for activities, theory sessions and fitness training.

Creative Support and the UCLan Sports Arena launched their partnership earlier this year with a national Social Inclusion Football Tournament. Football Development officer Cian McEvoy is currently supporting us to develop a Girls Only football session at the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
